Welcome to New Beginnings!

Wow, I cannot believe I am officially here! Welcome, and thank you for reading this, my first blog post as a Celebrant! It’s so exciting, I’m sitting here at my desk, eyes sparkling and full of happiness, and it is so amazing!

After the year that has been 2020, we all have lots to reflect on. It has not been plain sailing for anyone. Each and everyone of us has a story to tell about how 2020 has affected and changed our lives. I wanted to share my story with you…

At the start of 2020 I was on the Life Coaching path way learning and working with clients. I felt sure that this was for me. By the time half the year had passed with all its challenges, I had become less certain that Life Coaching was the path I wanted to follow. The turbulence of 2020 at that point had shown me that I still had a great deal of healing to do personally. Although I loved helping others, I knew in my heart I needed to help in a different way. I wasn’t sure how until by chance an email arrived in my mailbox… the Celebrants Collective was planning to open their doors in September to a brand new Celebrant Training Programme. My heart and mind piqued with interest!

I had considered becoming a Celebrant before I began my Life Coaching training but something held me back. I wasn’t quite confident enough and I wasn’t sure if it really was for me, yet now after so many changes in my life I was starting to think, maybe?

I started to be more visible on social media and following the stories of weddings and funeral Celebrants and the more I heard and read about the course I started to feel more and more excited by it all. Gradually the maybe, the sitting on the fence was looking more like a slide off that fence to a yes. We discussed it as a family and with the encouragement and support of my husband I decided to go ahead with the application for the course…And I got accepted!

My excitement and enthusiasm grew from there and I started the course the minute the doors opened, 21 September will be forever embedded in my Celebrant brain!

I volunteered for the Funeral course too and found myself delving deep into the training and became a certified Celebrant on 12 November 2020.

It has been quite a journey. At the start of the year I was a Life Coach who had retired from Hairdressing and Photography due to arthritis and I thought I had found my goal. Here we are now heading towards the end of 2020 and I am now a Certified Wedding and Funeral Celebrant and I know I have truly found my purpose. I’m feeling happier, sparkly and positive about where my future is headed. I already have a wedding booked for 2021, new venues to visit, wedding planners I am partnering with, and funeral directors I am helping to support and there is much more to come.

I am feeling vibrant and joyous knowing I will be creating and conducting ceremonies for couples and families in France to make their occasion special, memorable and personal, pursuing my loves of writing, travelling and meeting people from all walks of life.

I can’t wait to take on 2021 and I hope some of you will join me on my journey into a whole new adventure!
